Young Innovators Junior – Online After School Program
August 19 @ 4:15 am - 5:45 pm
Innovation continues to change the world. At every point in the day you experience a creation that has impacted how we move, communicate and explore our world. Think about the invention of the phone, of a hybrid car, even the traffic lights you see, every innovation began to improve human lives in some way.
The Young Innovators after school program is a series of workshops for students interested in learning what it takes to design, create, and innovate. Our young people will work with an expert team of facilitators and will be challenged to bring their ideas to life through a range of topics. They can take their pick of the following sessions or choose them all!
Week 1 (5th Aug): Future of Work – Learn about the 100 jobs of the future and explore what it means to be a fusionist, an off-world habitat designer, an aesthetician, and more!
Week 2 (12th Aug): Aviation – Watch your ideas take off! In our aviation session, we will be designing aircraft for the future of air travel and looking at the exciting new additions we’d love to see onboard.
Week 3 (19th Aug): Smart Cities – We will be looking at how we can use technology to create a truly smart and connected city as we explore everything from sensors to robots, autonomous vehicles, and more.
Week 4 (26th Aug): Sustainability – Learn about sustainability, in the home, at school, and in our cities as we design our sustainable futures.
Week 5 (2nd Sep): Future Foods – Consider the impact of the food industry and discover new, interesting, and creepy, menu items coming to a restaurant designed by you.
Week 6 (9th Sep): Zero Waste Mining – Become curious citizens as we find ways to reduce the environmental impacts of mining using technology, sustainability and community.
